2023 Digital Marketing Training

The North Country Chamber of Commerce, The SRMT Office of Economic Development, SRMT Employment & Training Services are collaborating to offer a digital marketing, social media, and e-commerce training series designed to help you find and attract new customers, clients, suppliers, and employees by creating a digital marketing strategy, building your online presence, utilizing online platforms such as Google/social media effectively, and so much more!
 

Whether you’ve never had a social media page before or just need some tips to help take your digital marketing game to the next level, this training is for you!

  • WHAT: One 2.5-hour class, once per week (8 classes in total), from September 11th through November 6th, excluding the holiday on October 9th.

  • WHERE: All classes will be held in-person at the Ionkwakiohkwaróron Tribal Administration Building located at 71 Margaret Terrance Memorial Way, Hogansburg NY 13655

  • COST: $125 per person for the full training series – the price includes breakfast each morning and a framed certificate of completion at the end.

1. Fundamentals of Digital Marketing

Monday September 11th 2023

4:30pm – 7:00pm

Description: What is digital marketing? What is social media and e-commerce? Why are they important and how can they help your business? How are they different from other more traditional methods? How do they compare in terms of reach, cost, etc.

2. Identifying Your Digital Marketing Needs & Developing a Strategy

Description: Better understand how the products/services you offer, your target audience/market, location, budget, and so much more affect your overall digital marketing strategy.

3. Options for Building & Improving Your Website

Monday September 25th 2023

4:30pm – 7:00pm

Description: Participants will learn the Pros and Cons of different website building tools, basic user experience ideas for website design, and basic search engine optimization. Participants will create an outline for their website content to be able to build after the class.

4. E-Commerce: Accepting Payments Electronically

Monday October 2nd 2023

4:30pm – 7:00pm

Description: Participants will learn the difference between a payment form and an online shopping cart; Present ‘instead of’ ecommerce options (Ex: a booking inquiry form that collects all needed information but doesn’t take payment.); Understand different payment types and processors (ex: Stripe, Square, Venmo, etc.), their fees and their limits.

5. Building A Website That Converts!

Monday October 16th 2023

4:30pm – 7:00pm

Description: In this course, we introduce the idea of a client avatar and why it's important, assess the difference between a client-centric website vs a company-centric one via a projection of two different sites. Finally, we will define a website conversion regarding how to optimize your website to increase the likelihood that your target audience will contact you or purchase your product.

6. SEO Basics and Maintenance

Monday October 23rd 2023

4:30pm – 7:00pm

Description: Outline the basics of on-page content Search Engine Optimization. Users will

understand the benefits of SEO, ways to improve their site, what to avoid, and how to keep the momentum going.

7. Using Social Media to Drive In-Store Traffic & Selling Direct

Monday October 30th 2023

4:30pm – 7:00pm

Description: Understanding how to drive traffic through social media including using bio/about links, links in posts, and tools like Meta Product Catalog and chatbots. In addition, we will explore ways the traffic can be measured on your website: different analytics tools and their pros and cons.

8. Tracking Your Results & Remarketing

Monday November 6th 2023

4:30pm – 7:00pm

Description: The objective of this class is to understand and track digital results and utilize those results to get better outcomes. We will do this by going over key metrics and different retargeting methods that can be utilized for improvement. In addition to that, we will cover what a retargeting campaign could look like and different tools that can be used in the process.
